This is an exaggerated look
inspired by my designs, David Bowie, Boy George, the punk and new romantic
Fashion Movement. I created this look to expand on my illustration development
and show my use for the bright colours and crazy hair that I have illustrated
on my designs.

Pretty In Punk Final Design and Final Toile
My chosen final design was hard to choose as I love all my designs
but I feel this one represented my collection the most. I chose to do my
illustrations like this as I wanted a grungy punk feeling to the collection but
I decided to call it Pretty in PUNK to add a little glam from the early 80's
new romantic inspiration. I have used a mixture of black and white gouache and
acrylic paint on this illustration to make it look effective. To add definition
and extra detailing to the garment I have used a black Biro pen.
This is my final best pattern toile for my
Garment. I am really pleased with the outcome of my design. It will be A
PVC/wet look skirt with netting attached at the hem. It also has a big attachment
on the left hand side which you can take off and put back on as it is attached
by zip. So you can’t see the zip I have added a zip cover which looks like a
pocket when you take off the attachment. I have chosen to design it like this
so it is accessible and suitable for all styles.
Design boards - Pretty In Punk
I have designed fifteen different pieces and
chosen my favourite six to put on to individual design boards. I have chosen my
favourite three that I feel represents my collection really well. On this
illustration I have used a black Berol pen blending it with water and fine
liner for the features. to illustrate the skirt I have used red acrylic paint and
pva glue to create a PVC wet look. I have also used dry black paint to create a
faux fur effect at the bottom of the skirt.
This design is a high waisted PVC skirt with a chiffon tartan
printed fabric flowing from the bottom of the skirt right down to the feet. It
also has zip detailing close to the hem of the skirt around the knee area. I
have inspired my illustrations hair by Vivienne Westwood and I have used
pastels to create that bold colour and vivid texture. I have used black acrylic
paint and glue to create the PVC fabric texture and red acrylic and Berol pen
for the tartan printed skirt.
ASOS Pretty In Punk Project - Lulutrixabelle Customer Profile
I have
chosen LuluTrixabelle ( Lucy Rance ) as my ASOS customer as she is my perfect
customer for this project. She is a well-known blogger and a big shopper at ASOS.
She shops at some designer shops, vintage charity shops and high-street shops
and can pull of anything! Her style is perfect for the look I am going for.
Pretty In PUNK - Asos Project
This ASOS project is currently on going but
here is some of the work I have created so far. I have chosen to use the late
70's PUNK and early 80's new romantics as inspiration for this project to
create a skirt to present to ASOS. We are working with ASOS on a brief in which
we had to create designs to suit their market and customers. This is some of my
sketchbook development experimenting for designs and ideas for the skirt I am
going to create. This is just a snippet of my illustrations, inspiration, media experimentation
and samples.
My mood board consists of my
inspiration from music artists such as David Bowie, Boy George, Madonna and Strawberry Switchblade. Designers such
a Vivienne Westwood, Doc Martens and the high-street brand ASOS. It also has my
colour scheme interpreted throughout my board which is a collection of blue,
red, black, white, grey, green and purple. I wanted to focus on the original
concept of British fashion and come up with a modern punk inspired skirt.
Live M.A.C Cosmetics Marketing Project - Promotional Materials
As a team for the M.A.C cosmetics project we
created a promotional T-shirt and tote bag. I made the black bag up from
scratch and then we all created a print logo that we printed on to the t-shirt
and bag using puff binder in purple to represent viva glam. We also made the
shirt by UN picking the sleeves from a black t-shirt and adding purple short
sleeves instead to make it more effective instead of a plain black T-shirt.
Marketing materials from our LIVE M.A.C cosmetics project
For This marketing project we
were assigned two briefs in which we could choose one to complete and create
different marketing materials as a team effort to present to the M.AC cosmetics
representatives. We worked in a team of five and created packaging, press
releases, look books with illustrations on, marketing reports and created our
own colour for a viva glam lipstick. We chose Katy Perry as our spokesperson
and the project was a big success as team work and the amount of work that we
produced and we are all so pleased with how well we worked together.
We also created Mood boards, inspiration boards, customer boards and big illustration boards. Here is just a bigger
view of our work as a whole team. we each took part in everything that we
created so that the work was created fairly and
equally and no one was doing too much on their own.
